Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort contributed $20,000 to Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast for funds raised by staff, volunteers and the community during the 28th Annual Sandestin Triathlon last August. Resort officials presented hospital president Roger Hall with the check during a brief ceremony last week.

“We appreciate Sandestin’s generosity and willingness to make a difference in the community," said Roger Hall, president of Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast. “We have worked closely with Sandestin on a number of fundraising efforts, including the annual Serve2Cure tennis event.”

In October, Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort raised $15,000 at the Serve2Cure event held at the Sandestin Tennis Center to benefit breast cancer research.

“We are very thankful for our strong partnership and the numerous fund raising events we have successfully staged this year with Sacred Heart Hospital,” said Mark Hodgdon, senior vice-president and general manager of Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort. “We (Sandestin) take pride in working with Sacred Heart to benefit others in need and doing what we can to make our community a better place.”

The 29th Annual Sandestin Triathlon is set for Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015 and will lure more than 700 participants for a half-mile Gulf of Mexico swim, a 20-mile bike along the Emerald Coast and a four-mile run through Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.
