The seed was planted for Planet Secure in 2005 when Ken Richard’s business in St. Louis was burglarized.

“When I went looking for a burglar alarm/security system, everyone wanted to charge me an arm and a leg,” explains Ken. “I just knew I could offer a good, reliable system for a fraction of the cost, so I started Skyeye Security in St. Louis. When we moved to SoWal in 2009, Planet Secure was born.”

Walton County Mobility Plan Workshops Feb 2 & 4

The Walton County Planning Department will conduct three workshops to discuss the Proposed Walton County Mobility Plan. There are two identical sessions on February 2nd at 1PM and 6PM, both focused on the Scenic 30A Corridor. There is a third session on February 4th at 6PM, focused on Miramar Beach and other parts of South Walton.

Community Garden to Begin at Padgett Park

Cultivate Community Gardens (CCG), the first community garden in South Walton, announced the organization is the recipient of a $10,000 grant from the J.W. Couch Foundation.

The funds will be used towards the initial construction of the community garden to be installed this spring at Padgett Park in Santa Rosa Beach.

“We are thrilled to help construct the first community garden in South Walton and believe it will be an amazing source of nutrition, education and wellness for all.” said Sean Couch, President of the J.W. Couch Foundation.

Sandestin Gumbo Festival Feb 20

The Sandestin Gumbo Festival takes place in The Village of Baytowne Wharf on Saturday, February 20 from 12-4pm. The event is a beloved local winter tradition in South Walton, Florida. Featuring gumbo tasting throughout The Village in addition to bloody mary competition and live music.
