Alaqua Animal Refuge is a no-kill facility founded in 2007 on a sprawling, 10-acre farm in Freeport, FL. Alaqua Animal Refuge believes that every abused, neglected and homeless animal deserves a second chance. The private, nonprofit animal sanctuary is committed to serving the Emerald Coast as the premier no-kill refuge, providing protection, shelter and care to animals in need. Alaqua is a full-service animal adoption center serving as a peaceful, proactive animal welfare advocate through educational outreach and community programs.

Seaside welcomes the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra for a Labor Day Weekend pops concert under the stars on Saturday, August 31 in the Lyceum. On August 31, select South Walton restaurants will host Dine 4 Danny—a dine-out fundraiser to support Danny Margagliano, a former South Walton Fire District fireman and paramedic who was paralyzed in a diving accident, leaving him to struggle daily with overwhelming medical expenses and needs. Locals and visitors are invited to show their support for Danny simply by dining out at one of the participating restaurants this Saturday.

Her initial workshops held this summer were extremely popular and quickly filled with art lovers eager to experience her distinctive style and self-taught process for creating glass mosaics.
