Mosaic Glass Artist Mary Hong Announces Fall Art Workshops

A professional artist for more than 20 years and a glass artist for the past 13, Mary Hong is now sharing her passion for glass and unique techniques through instructional workshops. The upcoming "Glass Art Meets Canvas/Board" workshops are themed for fall and the holidays. The October classes will feature fall designs and marine life, and the November and December classes feature holiday-themed designs, including angels and Christmas trees.

South Walton Fashion Week debuted Oct 11-13 in Grand Boulevard’s Town Center at Sandestin, including a stellar lineup of over 30 featured boutiques and local designers in runway shows throughout the weekend.

Special preview parties and trunk shows accompanied the festivities, in addition to a runway show dedicated to chosen Emerging Designer finalists Cayce Collins, Andi Eaton, Jennifer Nina Evans, Ashlie Ming, Ella Rose and Sarah Winford.

Artist Reception & Trunk Show at Fusion Art Glass in Seaside Oct. 18-20

Fusion Art Glass in Seaside will host its Annual Trunk Show at the Seaside gallery on October 18-20. The event begins with an artist reception on Friday from 4-6 p.m. welcoming award winning glass artist Cal Breed of Orbix Hot Glass in Fort Payne, Alabama.  Breed was recently nominated for Martha Stewart's Made in America Award.

Rosemary Beach Lecture Series with John Hemingway Oct. 10

Rosemary Beach Foundation is honored to welcome John Hemingway to the Rosemary Beach Lecture Series. The event will take place at Rosemary Beach Town Hall Thursday, October 10 at 6:00 p.m. for a wine reception followed by a lecture and conversation with John Hemingway, and then a book signing. Tickets are available and priced at $100 for individual and $150 per couple. Justin Gaffrey, Beachy Beach 30A and Summer House Lifestyle are teaming up to present a silent, art-auction soiree on Thursday, Sep 26 at 6:30 p.m. to benefit Food For Thought, a Walton County-based non-profit that provides healthy food to local children in need. Tickets are $75 in advance and $100 at the door with 100 percent of auction proceeds benefiting the charity organization.

The Artists at Gulf Place kick off a new event called the “Artist Bazaar” beginning on September 7, occurring every week on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. The Artist Bazaar at Artists at Gulf Place will be a marketplace of local artists, craftspeople and artisan vendors. The weekly event will be held throughout the entire year, and seeks to highlight the art and culture of the colorful community of Gulf Place to both locals and visitors of South Walton.
 

Williams Backyard Boogie Benefit For Arts In Medicine Sep 20

Coming this September to Williams Backyard Boogie is the first annual fundraiser for Arts in Medicine program at Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast. The event will feature the sounds of our very own “true story” cowboy - Bryan Kennedy, Vermont’s Green Mountain Girl - Stephanie Lynn, and the award winning area favorite - the Forrest Williams Band. There will be added preshow antics and improv by the Emerald Coast Theater Company, raffle items donated by local artists and food plates provided by Grayton Beach Catering.
