The inaugural Fore Her golf tournament is coming to Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort this Fall to raise funds to help local women battling breast cancer.

The event will take place October 26, 2013 at The Links at Sandestin. Check in begins at 11:00 am with a shotgun tee off at 12:00 pm. The day’s activities will include 18 holes of golf and a silent auction. All tournament participants will also receive a “swag bag” filled with gifts from event sponsors.

This party is always great fun for a great cause - raising funds every year for Children's Volunteer Health Network (CVHN). CVHN provides children in our area much needed medical and dental care. The 9th Annual Hurricane Party will take place on Friday, Sept. 27 from 7-10 p.m. with all proceeds benefiting CVHN.
 

Sinfonia Gulf Coast announced its continued partnership with The Boeing Company in recognition of the non-profit symphony orchestra's mission of inspiring, entertaining and educating the community with innovative and imaginative performances. The grant of $5,000 will assist the organization and its music education outreach initiatives during the upcoming 2013-2014 season.
 

Justin Gaffrey, Beachy Beach 30A and Summer House Lifestyle are teaming up to present a silent, art-auction soiree on Thursday, Sep 26 at 6:30 p.m. to benefit Food For Thought, a Walton County-based non-profit that provides healthy food to local children in need. Tickets are $75 in advance and $100 at the door with 100 percent of auction proceeds benefiting the charity organization.

Children’s Volunteer Health Network (CVHN) is once again hosting their unique fundraising event November 9-30, 2013.  Now in its sixth year, the annual Cottages for Kids takes place on the East Long Green in Rosemary Beach. 

Hard Rock Café of Destin will host a fundraiser on Setptember 27 at 6:30 to benefit Building Homes for Heroes. This event will help to provide a local wounded veteran, Air Force Master Sgt. Joseph Deslauriers and his family with a new home. Attendees will enjoy food by Hard Rock Café, music by the band Continuum and a silent auction. Special guests include Retired Ranger PFC Todd Blackburn who served in Operation Restore Hope in Somalia (Blackhawk Down) and Maryann Makekau, author of When Your Dad Goes to War, Inspirational Speaker, and Founder of Hope Matters.

Watercolor Tennis and Seaside Tennis are teaming up to hosting the Third Annual Love All Round Robin Tennis Tournament benefiting Food For Thought Outreach.  The tennis tournament will be held on the courts of both resorts on Saturday, September 21.  

Last year, the Love All Round Robin gained a lot of traction and in addition to raising thousands of dollars for FFT in just a matter of hours, helped bring awareness to an organization that not only serves Walton County, but also most recently expanded to help children in the Destin area.

Alaqua Animal Refuge is a no-kill facility founded in 2007 on a sprawling, 10-acre farm in Freeport, FL. Alaqua Animal Refuge believes that every abused, neglected and homeless animal deserves a second chance. The private, nonprofit animal sanctuary is committed to serving the Emerald Coast as the premier no-kill refuge, providing protection, shelter and care to animals in need. Alaqua is a full-service animal adoption center serving as a peaceful, proactive animal welfare advocate through educational outreach and community programs.

Wilson Biophilia Center is hosting a fundraiser for area student programs, and the preservation of Longleaf pine trees, to be held at Bud & Alley’s from 5 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, Sep 8.
