I checked out the completed park the other day and there were a lot of people already hanging out and enjoying the new addition to Helen McCall Park. The dream of Walton Skate Society has become reality, through the hard work and fundraising of the group and our community. Walton County Skate Park is at Helen McCall Park south of US 98 and just west of Hwy 393 in Santa Rosa Beach.
Like many organizations across the country, Caring & Sharing of South Walton has seen a rapid increase in the number of people in need of food and financial assistance. The local nonprofit has risen to the occasion, serving more people than ever before, while also launching a relief fund to help other organizations in need.
Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation (DCWAF), one of the nation’s premier fundraising organizations, is pleased to announce a special virtual auction benefiting children in need in Northwest Florida during a time of great uncertainty.
“Large gatherings may be currently suspended, but the needs of our 16 children’s charities are greater than ever before. We feel a strong sense of responsibility to find creative ways to continue supporting our charity partners and the important work they are doing for the children in our community,” DCWAF President John Russell said.
Food For Thought's mission is to remove the negative impacts of hunger, and to empower children to get the most out of their education and development by providing them weekly access to healthy, easy to prepare meals through their many programs.

Children’s Volunteer Health Network (CVHN) recently accepted a grant of $35,000 from the Helping Hands Foundation of the All In Credit Union. The funds will go towards a second mobile dental unit to focus on restorative dental care in both Okaloosa and Walton Counties.
Destin Harvest, Farm Share, PERT, Event Tents, American Lunch, Harbor Docks, Food for Thought, and local responders are working together to meet the overwhelming need for access to free, fresh and nonperishable foods in our area.
