Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation (MKAF) continues its 20th anniversary with the 20th annual Festival of the Arts Oct. 24-25, 2015 at the Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village in Destin, Fla. One of the Southeast’s premier festivals, the two-day signature features exhibits of more than 100 artists from 12 states (and one from Europe) showcasing a diverse palette of artistic styles and mediums.

Pierce Family Children's Advocacy Center Slated to Open Spring 2016

The Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center’s Walton County construction site is making great progress in Defuniak Springs, Florida. The Pierce Family Children’s Advocacy Center, named after Jim and Tammy Pierce in honor of their generous $1 million donation, is slated to open in Spring 2016. To date, $2.1 million has been raised and/or pledged towards the $3 million capital campaign.  

Chili Vibrations World Music Festival & Chili Cookoff Oct 2-4

Back for the second year at Pier Park in Panama City Beach is the Chili Vibrations World Music Festival, sponsored by SoWal.com. From the very first note played last year, it became one of our favorite area events, featuring live reggae (and world music), art, apparel, and a wide variety of food. The chili cookoff features an outstanding competition among teams from local restaurants and assorted citizen teams.
