The Seaside Institute helps people lead interesting rewarding lives. Our mission, unchanged since 1982, is to help people create great communities. We catalyze civic engagement as a strong voice of our extended community and by bringing arts and culture to our community. We extend the New Urbanism frontier by recognizing, teaching, and promoting New Urbanism and by globalizing world-changing strategies like mobility, sustainability, and aging in place.
The Seaside Institute Studio hosts workshops, symposia, and small group meetings. The Seaside Institute Assembly Hall is home to design charrettes, classes, and large group meetings. The Seaside Institute Academic Village, located in the civic heart of Seaside, provides a contemplative center of learning and quiet accommodations for participants in Institute programs.
