Rug Hooking Class at Bayou Arts Center

The CAA is excited to offer a fun upcoming art workshop: Beginning Rug Hooking Classes with fiber artist, Capri Boyle Jones at the Bayou Arts Center. The first of the three-class series is scheduled for September 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Follow up classes take place October 14 & 28.

Beginning Rug Hooking is a series of three classes in which students will learn the basics of rug hooking to include fundamental principles and concepts that allow each student to understand and create a hooked product. This class will practice pulling loops on a 12" x 12" pattern designed by the instructor which encourages a variety of basic techniques. We will utilize a variety of wools and/or other fibers to achieve the essence of the design. Students will also learn about equipment and tools utilized for rug hooking.

The Bayou Arts Center is located at 105 Hogtown Bayou Lane off County Road 393 North in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) offers a dynamic collection of weekly workshops throughout the year. All classes are open to the public to reserve.
