Scooterbug44, what's with the sig? And Jdarg, seriously???

Well then, have at it and run for President in 2012. I think it might just take a miracle to get this country back on an even keel.

I'm sorry, but Jesus would not get elected, imho. He's a dem or an independent

This is how FOX would tear him down.

He wasn't born in America (show us the birth certificate) and he hung out with "radicals" in his day. He gave loaves and fishes to everyone, equally, so, he could be a socialist. His mothers background would be torn apart and she would be declared to have not been a virgin. He didn't care for money traders, either, if I remember correctly, so, Wall Street would be against him, and whoa, don't even start on healthcare. Can you imagine how much money they would throw against him because he can heal the sick and make their drugs and insurance obsolete. And the whole deal about helping the sick and the poor, well, that's just welfare, right. ;-)

Andy, I guess I don't really understand the sentiment that it is desirable to have an ordinary person as president rather than someone who is, in fact, brilliant or exceptionally intelligent.

There are many exceptionally intelligent people among our 300 million citizens who don't say stupid things or say things stupidly. Sarah Palin is not one of them. Neither is George Bush. Although I believe he isn't performing well, I do believe Obama is one of them (but I digress).

Let's stop this nonsense with ignoring that Sarah Palin isn't presidential material. It's okay. I'm not presidential material either and neither are most on this board...
And that's where you're wrong! Many of the people on this board would do just as well as President as many of those before them have done. Evidently you have an impression of our President as someone who is all powerful, omnipotent and above all other citizens. I don't and feel many could be President if they had the money, agressiveness and backing to pursue the office. Your a smart man, Geo, but I often wonder if you do not think many, including some on this board, are well below your level of expertise and intelligence. I don't think they are, and while there are many I don't agree with as far as policy is concerned, there are many I feel would make as good a President as those we have had in the past. BTW, that also includes you though from all I read from you I am sure I would hate your policies as much as I dislike most of Obama's.

she comes off as a retard who resigned the governorship for money
Resigning when she did was actually smart - it meant millions and not having to govern when times got tough in Alaska.

And I thought she had a valid point about not using the word "retard" as an insult (though of course she totally fumbled the carry through.)

there are valid reasons why you keep a common man/woman away from the steering wheel. we have just been taught a miserable lesson.

Was that Johnny Carson? :D

The point is that she is a hypocritical moron.

I thought it was hypercrite? :dunno:

It's Thingy
Now, that's danged funny! :funn:

Basically she is everything that is wrong with politics - critical w/o offering solutions, devisive, unqualified/unaware, humorless, and pandering to a base who cannot see the forest for the trees.

She might be a good speaker/fundraiser/commentator for the GOP/Fox, but the thought of her actually being part of our government at such a critical time chills my blood.

I can think of other people and actions that are worse. Just my opinion.

I guess I am wondering why you care, because intellectually, I know you are above this. Some media outlets have it front page and center when there should be more important matters, not an outlet to wrap fish in. It's odd to me that those outlets think that they can sway her base into believing she is a hypocrite. Maybe we should care more about what they are not reporting, like Republicans worthy of our interest.

Including sowal.com

Except that she had just criticized someone else for doing something similar. That's always been my issue with her. That and her great ability to distort facts every-time she opens her mouth.

It was the ugly sentiment that Palin roused in the presidental ralleys that lost me forever for her and for McCains vote. I don't agree that she has common sense. She is cunning and will tell the mases what they want to hear to remain popular as most all politicians. If she had common sense she would not have left Alaska in the situation she did when she left her elected post there. The gas pipe line she always claimed fame over. Look it up now. Doubtful it will ever get built. Her flip-flop on Rush and the use of the word retarded was just one more in a long line of "do as I say, not as I do" that we can get used to from her. She's a politician, she is not a leader. The whole start a war with Iran deal. Wow, we know whose playbook she would play from if she needed a second term:blink:

Sorry, this entire response was not to you, Lynnie. I just got a little carried away.

I am not offended. Haven't Y'all figured this out, yet? I would hope sowallers are open to everyones' opinions. Sometimes, I see different actions. Thanks for your opinion.

Well, you finally got your wish. It is no longer peaceful and quiet around here and its all your fault.:D

Successful fight~~~~

listen pal!

I have two friends say this and sound like 70's cool dudes, but they're really boobs.

YouTube- George Bush Idiot Quotes he was only admitted because of his academic record

These are hysterical. And, could be why Obama is so reliant on the teleprompter.......ever thought of that?

Andy, I am just as certain you are wrong as you are that I am wrong. :D

The vast majority of the citizens in the US are thoroughly unqualified to be POTUS. And while Sowallers might be some of the sharper knives in the drawer, the fact is most of us are not qualified to be POTUS (let alone president of a homeowners association). Do I believe there are a few who would do well? Yes- a very few.

I don't have an impression that the POTUS is "all powerful, omnipotent and above all citizens". But I also have no delusions that just anybody who is aggressive and has money and backing can or should do it.

Your a smart man, Geo, but I often wonder if you do not think many, including some on this board, are well below your level of expertise and intelligence.

Andy, wonder no more. I make absolutely no apology for thinking that many people (including some on this board) are well below my level of expertise and intelligence. And without hesitation- I can assure you that many people (including some on this board) are well above my level of expertise and intelligence.

I'm disappointed you decided to get personal here. We were talking about Sarah Palin and whether or not she is a dumbbell.

I am sure I would hate your policies as much as I dislike most of Obama's.

I don't think that would be the case. Just like I don't vote along party lines I also don't base my stance on issues consistent with what is traditional to one party. For some issues, you'd love me. For others, not so much. I'd imagine the net effect would probably be that I am somewhere in the middle.

I don't think her having something written on her hand is any more an issue than the President using a teleprompter. They are both non issues in my opinion.

Surely with millions out of jobs and many more without insurance there are more important issues to be concerned about by either party.
