Holding small town values is not party specific. Most people who are in car pools in South Walton are worried about gas prices, are conserving any way they can, are worried about keeping a roof over their heads, putting food on their tables, providing for their families the best they can.

I happen to believe that John McCain's ideas are the best fit for my family and I will not criticize any one else for having a different viewpoint.

I think you are known by the company you keep. Acorn, Farrakan, Ayers, Wright, Plegler, Franks, Dodd, etc.etc.etc.

How many of these has Obama repudiated? Only Wright because Hillary and her crowd was making things too uncomfortable.

If David Dukes called John McCain "the Messiah" it would lead the news for days.

I do not fear the "mothership" but I do fear those who hate America and wish to destroy us. I also fear a candidate for President who will not even show proper respect to the National Anthem.

in the video it looks as if, unlike his honkified brethren, he is either mouthing the words, or is trying to sing the anthem being wonderfully butchered by the singer.

Her schtick sounds more like wishful rantasy thinking to me. It is a very interesting tactic she is using.

Can anyone tell me why it feels like Mr. Obama is kicking me to the curb of Main Street with his tax cut, cough cough wealth redistribution? :dunno: This is my last issue.
his ultimate plan is to make the poor wealthy

and as it should be SM. you are right - we are all in this together as small town folks - we chose to live here because of its beauty and unique charm. we're very family oriented here just as in other small towns across america. I believe Cil was talking about how Palin describes her own small town experience and how it seems to exclude (and even demean) those who do not live and think as she does. as TFT pointed out to us earlier in this thread, her quotes are taken directly from an extreme anti-semitic writer - why would she try to emulate such in a public speech? there are many americans who cannot relate to her description of Joe six pack or pitt bull hockey moms. what is her point? what is she trying to do? politicians today know not to push their own values - it gets really tricky to do so - and politicians with good judgement just plain know better.

Cil was not speaking about your experience, but of Palin's way of describing and pushing hers. we all relate to you and your family very much so. some of us may not like AI, but we like other equally popular entertainment and/or mind numbing reality crap on TV or on computers, etc.that is not the point. Cil was making some very profound comments about what she sees as happening to americans and she used some examples that are just tips of the iceburg - I totally hear what she's saying. Americans seem to be less educated (in many ways), not as thoughtful and less aware, more isolated and more centered on themselves than ever. this is true for a huge growing segment. Palin seems to embrace the kind of small town thinking that isn't the good kind. it is evident to many of us that she represents a very narrow minded view of american life - but I'm sure she would never see it that way. that is the impression left on many americans - especially women. it is the impression she has given us directly through her own words.

but the bottom line is that many of us are not impressed with Palin's (or mccain's) campaign strategies which have been negative and unprofessional and full of ideas which are not different from what we've seen in the last 8 years. not different at all. and this is not what many of us wish for our families, towns, or our country. some of us believe we can do far better with Obama's vision and progressive agenda to work hard for a much better future. and its perfectly okay if you do not believe this.

Many of us are not pleased with the leftwingers and their media surrogates systematic attempt to destroy Sara Palin. That is far more "negative and unprofessional " than anything Palin and McCain have said about Obama.:bang:

A leftward bias is the reality. The best way to combat this is to turn off the tube.

She is doing a fine job of destruction by herself. She doesn't really engage the media so I guess they have to speculate on her views and stances. If she doesn't like the media handling, she could do some interviews and answer questions.

Has there been a less accessible VP candidate than Palin?

I'll bet that many of you deep down are not pleased with the selection of Sarah Palin but you just can't admit it. She is taking sharp criticism from both the left and right. It's only 3rd graders like Rush and Hannity who still support her.

If anyone is trying to destroy her--then, they are using the ammunition given to them by Gov Palin herself and the McCain campaign. No one ever heard of her before, so whatever is out there, has been put out there by Palin herself.

.

and many people who fall into the category above will be the very ones hurt the most by a McCain - Palin presidency...the fact that so many who will be hurt by the economic policies, are the very ones who continue to vote for them is amazing to me.

The only explanation I can find is that the culture war issues trump economics in some people's minds.
