15th Annual Seaside School Half Marathon & 5K Events Mar 3-5

The Seaside School Half Marathon and 5K Race, presented by Vera Bradley, is coming up on Sunday, March 5, along with some incredible parties and expos leading up to race day. This is one of the most anticipated weekends of the year in South Walton, Florida. For the 15th year we celebrate this out-and-back, fast and mostly flat course where runners from all over the US pass quaint beach towns, dune lakes, and the world's most beautiful beaches. All proceeds benefit the Seaside School Foundation. Let the weekend festivities begin!
Around 4,000 people from 40+ states are coming to SoWal Beaches to participate in the race this year! Thousands of friends and families will be cheering from the sidelines along the Scenic Hwy 30A race course. The race starts early Sunday morning in Seaside and the course continues west along Scenic 30A through WaterColor, over Western Lake in Grayton Beach, through Blue Mountain Beach to Gulf Place, and then back to Seaside.
The race weekend offers three days of exciting events for everyone including runners, visitors, locals and volunteers. Taste of the Race with Chef Emeril Lagasse kicks off the weekend on Friday evening under the tent at the Seaside Lyceum. Saturday's Race Expo & Silent Auction is one big party with vendors, food and live entertainment all afternoon. Sunday is race day followed by a post-race party with live music.
Friday March 3 - Seaside School Pre-Race Party | Taste of The Race!
Taste of the Race with Emeril takes place on Friday night at the Seaside Lyceum, from 7-9pm, with a VIP reception from 6-7pm. Everyone is invited to celebrate, enjoy good food, live music and kick off another great Seaside race weekend! Join Chef Emeril Lagasse in person and enjoy cuisine from two of Emeril’s famous restaurants along with some of the Gulf Coast’s top chefs and restaurants such as Great Southern Café, The Bay, Stinky’s Fish Camp, Bud & Alley’s, and more! Enjoy complimentary fine wine from Wine World, craft spirits from Buffalo Trace, and craft beer from Grayton Beer while listening to live music! The outdoor evening festivities will be held rain or shine in a heated tent, under the big top! Space is limited. Race registration packet pickup will be available.Tickets are limited for both the VIP and General Admission. Tickets now available.
Saturday, March 4 - Race Expo
The Expo is FREE and open to everyone from noon to 6pm at the Seaside Lyceum. The vendors at the Expo will offer a wide variety of equipment, apparel, footwear and accessories for the whole family. The Expo will have a great selection of merchandise at great prices. A Silent Auctoin Expo features "buy it now" pricing and continues through Sunday. Live music til 2pm.
Sunday, March 5 - Race Day!
One of South Walton's most popular events, the Seaside School Half Marathon & 5K Race takes place Sunday, March 5 beginning at 7am in Seaside. Seaside's Half Marathon and 5K Run, established in 2003 to raise funds for the Seaside Neighborhood School, has become a huge community affair, drawing more than 4,000 runners from around the world.
Half Marathon & 5K Races: The course is fast and mostly flat. The race is USATF certified, and will start and finish in downtown Seaside. Volunteers and community groups will line the race course to cheer you on and provide entertainment. Registration is expected to fill up early so sign up as soon as possible. There will be NO RACE DAY REGISTRATION. Registration fees are NON-REFUNDABLE and NONTRANSFERABLE. Register online at runseasidefl.com.
A post race party will take place throughout the town of Seaside including food, drink, awards and silent auction final call.
