Topsail Hill Preserve State Park Adventure & Music in July

Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is a wonderful place to explore any day of the year. You'll love taking advantage of some of the weekly events at the park this summer. What a great way to get out and explore one of South Walton's most beautiful coastal areas directly on the Gulf of Mexico. Topsail Hill Preserve State Park admission fees are waived for Summer 2015.
 

Here's the inside info so you can make plans to attend some of the weekly music events and park ranger adventure programs coming up in July at our Florida State Park preserve located on the west end of Scenic 30A in South Walton.
 

Americana Under the Stars Live music takes place every Thursday from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Come out to the amphitheater for original Americana music including folk, jazz, blues and more by musicians from all around Florida and beyond. If the event of rain, the concert will move to the clubhouse. Bring a chair and refreshments. Admission is free with a suggested donation of $5 to the Friends of Topsail Hill Park. This is family/pet friendly and fun for all ages.

Kids Club Kids Club will take place every Tuesday and Thursday this summer from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. in the Park clubhouse. There will be crafts, face painting, and kids will have an opportunity to learn about the park. For more info call the park at 850-267-8330.
 

Park Ranger Programs & Adventure

Florida Black Bears Friday, July 10 1:00pm-2:30pm
Topsail Hill Preserve State Park invites you to an informational program on the Florida Black Bear. This program will cover the basics of the bears life in Florida, such as life span, denning habits, eating habits, and much more. This will be an all ages program and will take place in the clubhouse. Enter the park through the main gate and park staff will direct you to the clubhouse.

Breakfast with a Ranger Saturday, July 11 9:00am-10:00am
Topsail Hill Preserve State Park invites you and your family to Breakfast with a Ranger. Join the Rangers of Topsail Hill to learn about the park, its history and to ask them all the questions you can think of about the park its wildlife and anything in between. This program is ideal for the whole family to enjoy. To cover the cost of food, please bring $5.00, which goes to Friends of Topsail Hill Preserve State Park to enhance the park or bring your own breakfast. Enter the park through the main gate and park staff will direct you to the clubhouse.
 

Exotics Friday, July 17 1:00pm-2:30pm
Come learn about our non-native visitors. You may have some right in your own back yard, this program will teach you how to identify and get rid of plants that do not belong. Lots of time and money are spent on eradication of these plants, find out how you can help Enter the park through the main gate and park staff will direct you to the clubhouse.
 

Hike to No Name Lake Friday, July 24 1:00pm-2:30pm
Topsail Hill Preserve State Park Rangers will lead you through the various ecosystems that make this park unique. This hike will lead you to one of the lakes in the park, No Name Lake. Be sure to bring your binoculars, sunscreen, and water. The hike will leave from Tram Stop 1 in the day use parking area.
 

Surf Fishing Friday, July 31 1:00pm-2:30pm
Surf fishing is a popular sport along the beaches of Topsail Hill. This program will teach you what types of bait will work, what times of year certain fish can be caught, and common fish you can catch from the beach. Fishing gear is optional, the park has fishing gear. This program will take place at the Beach Access, park in the Day Use parking area and catch the 1:00pm Tram to the beach. The program will take place once the 1:00pm Tram arrives at the beach. Enter the park through the main gate and park staff will direct you to the tram stop.

Topsail Hill Preserve State Park’s tram service runs daily from 9:00 a.m. until sunset at least twice per hour to provide transportation to the Park’s beach access from the public parking lot.

Topsail Hill Preserve State Park is without doubt one of the most beautiful parks in the state of Florida. This preserve is filled with natural coastal lands, dunes and is home to two of our rare and famous coastal dune lakes. Park rangers and staff offer a schedule of adventures, classes and hikes in the park weekly as well as as Thursday night Americana outdoor music series - year round!

Fees for park entrance will be waived for beach access as well as scheduled activities during the summer. The park is open from 8:00 a.m. until sundown, 365 days a year.
