If you've been to one of South Walton's state parks this season, you might have noticed extra activity along the shore in low-lying dune areas. We have some very special visitors to our shores and this story and photos by our friend Jeff Talbert, Park Services Specialist at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park, is welcome information about our feathered friends.

The 4th of July in Seaside, Florida is an all-American celebration of music, food, white beaches, flags, fireworks, and a parade through the middle of town. It just doesn't get any better. The celebration kicks off with the annual South Walton 4th of July Parade that begins in Seagrove and culminates in Seaside. Line up early along Scenic Highway 30A and be prepared for laughs and lots of loot! Locals, visitors, and generations of Seaside families help make the parade an event that is cherished.

The beach means summer and the best of summer in SoWal is during 4th of July week. There is so much fun and fireworks everywhere you turn, in every beach town. All along South Walton Beaches is an all-American celebration every year during the first week of July. Parades, flags, watermelon and music blend perfectly with beautiful beaches and happy families.

The Events Plaza in Baytowne Wharf continues to feature some of the region's best live music throughout the summer. With a great lineup of musicians, you'll be thoroughly entertained, no matter what age. Bring your chairs and blankets, family and friends and enjoy a relaxing evening listening to your favorite tunes.
This event is free and open to the public, so come out for music filled fun every Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. in July!

On Thursday, May 30, 2013, Proffitt PR held its 6th Girls’ Night Out (GNO) event, GNO Does 30A at Pandora’s of Grayton Beach.
Beginning strictly as a holiday party for local women of the area just one year ago, GNO soon culminated into a signature charity event held at venues including Harbor Docks, Marlin Grill, Tuscany Italian Bistro, and The Solaris. GNO quickly garnered a loyal following of 300+ ladies. With such significant growth of the event, Proffitt PR began to incorporate a different beneficiary for each event in order to give back to the community.

We love Orange Leaf! It's so yummy we just can't get enough. We had a fun time making this short video with some students from nearby Ohana Institute. Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt is a self-serve, choose-your-own-toppings frozen dessert shop located on Scenic 30A in Seacrest (between Rosemary and Alys Beach, right next to La Cocina Mexican Grill).
Local hot spot, Harbor Docks has released its weekend music schedule for June, July and August, 2013. Featuring local favorites as well as regional acts from as far as North Carolina, Harbor Docks’ summer lineup will continue to be the highlight of the exciting and unique nightlife scene of Destin.
