YOLO Board Joins a Thousand-Mile Journey Through the Heart of Florida

The Florida Wildlife Corridor has the noble aim to protect and restore connected landscapes throughout the Florida Peninsula to create a viable corridor from the Everglades to Georgia.

Harborwalk Village Hosts the 4th Annual Beachcomber Music Awards Sunday

Celebrate the coast’s most talented regional and local musicians on Sunday, Feb, 19 from 5-10PM as SoWal.com partner, The Beachcomber, brings local favorites to the stage for fun and awards.

The winners of the 4th Annual Beachcomber Music Awards are announced LIVE on the HarborWalk Village stage. The evening will include LIVE music throughout HarborWalk Village from several of the nominees. Concerts are free and open to the public.

Wine lovers (men and women) will meet some of the country’s top winemakers, savor delectable dinners prepared by top chefs, bid on exclusive auction packages and shop the latest trends in a designer marketplace.

Birds of Prey on Display at E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center

Just like the birds Lisa Miller rehabilitates, she too was given a second chance at the E.O. Wilson Biophilia Center.

Miller is the head of the Center’s Birds of Prey Program. It is a job she has held for seven months and came to hold quite by accident.

“I started my life at age 50,” Miller told audience members at her Jan. 19 presentation at E.O. Wilson.

South Walton Real Estate Sales in 2011 Rose Sharply

The final numbers are in from the Emerald Coast Association of Realtors (ECAR) and South Walton sales figures are up across the board, compared to 2010. In fact almost all surrounding areas showed great improvement.

South Walton total sales were up 26%, single family home sales were up 18%, and condo sales were up 30%. Word on the street and on the internet is that 2012 is already off to a roaring start.

Celebrate Mardi Gras in the street at Gulf Place. The Town Center Loop circle will be blocked off for a party in the street, with food, drinks, beads, costumes, parades, face-painting, arts &
crafts, and Live New Orleans music. The party starts at 12:00 noon with the “Barkus” Pet Parade;

Get Ready for Gumbo and Mardi Gras at Sandestin
