Paddlers of all ages and skill levels gathered at Sandestin's Baytowne Marina for the third of the four-race series. The three-mile course was quite a challenge.

The race event consists of a series of four endurance-building races: May 28 -- one mile course, June 24th -- two mile course, July 23rd -- three mile course, and August 13th -- four mile course.
Race paddlers vie for the champion title "2011 YOLO Board Mileage Builder Series" to be  awarded after the final race in August.

The theme was Rock and Roll as hundreds gathered on Western Lake at the WaterColor BoatHouse for the 3rd race in the Summer four-race YOLO series on July 14, 2011.

The popular event showcases a wide spectrum of local faces with teams representing anything from the South Walton Fire District Lifeguards to real estate agents to area chefs.

The South Walton Fire District's Junior Lifeguard Program is tearing it up this summer at the Ed Walline Beach Access in Santa Rosa Beach.

It's an excellent program in its fourth year under the direction of Beach Safety Director Gary Wise.
The students learn about the beach environment, including wave formation, how to identify a rip current and what to do if you are caught in one. The program provides training in water rescue techniques, first aid and CPR. Additional activities include kayaking, surfing and boogie boarding.

t's an annual, treasured family tradition at Rosemary Beach on Independence Day as kids of all ages decorate their bikes and parade around the town, followed by games, a barbecue, live music, and fireworks on the beach!

The festivities continue through the morning on Western Green with fun games, rides, potato sack races, hula hoop contests, face painting, and more family fun!

Later in the day a family barbecue on Eastern Green brings together generations for a beautiful beach sunset.

Rags to Riches Regatta 16 in Grayton Beach was not without a bit of the usual drama that happens every year during the race.

This year it was crew member Ford Torrey cutting his foot while launching, requiring a trip to the emergency room. And another boat lost her mast and had to be towed to shore, a nearly annual occurrence. Overall It was another wonderful race on a picture-perfect day on Grayton Beach.

Hundreds gathered to take a stand, hold hands, and draw a line in the sand in Seaside, Florida with "Hands Across the Sand" founder Dave Rauschkolb.

The fourth annual YOLO Board Stand-Up Paddle Series is from May 2011 to
August 2011 and consists of male and female teams competing relay style
in two divisions, Beginning and Next Level (men's), over the course of
four races for the champion title "2011 YOLO Board Cup Series" to be
awarded after the final race in August.

Madeline made a trip down from from Athens, Georgia to play live at Central Square Records in Seaside.
