We have a lot of great spots to catch live music in SoWal, but it's hard to match the atmosphere and intimacy of the REP Theatre main stage in Seaside. Every seat in the house is a good one, there's only 75, which almost gives it a living room atmosphere. Exceptional artists in an intimate setting, with beer & wine served! Be sure to catch a show at The REP before or after dining at one of Seaside's excellent restaurants.

Visitors to SoWal spend a lot of time along Scenic 30A, and a MUST visit to Alys Beach is always in order. Located on the east end of South Walton (just west of Rosemary Beach), locals and out-of-towners are always amazed at the unique architecture, courtyards, green spaces, gardens and parks found within the Alys Beach community.

The Emerald Coast Boat & Lifestyle Show takes place February 28 - March 1, 2020 at Aaron Bessant Park in Panama City Beach.  This land-based show will feature boat displays from all major manufacturers and the top dealers representing the latest in boats, high tech engines, electronics and marine accessories. Boats ranging from entry level bow riders and center consoles all the way up to the next generation 42' center consoles with quad outboards that have become so popular. The most recent SoWal Real Estate Report covers all of Walton County including South Walton real estate activity for December 2019, with statistics for single family homes, townhomes, and condos in Walton County, Florida.

Single family homes closed sales were up 34% for December 2019 compared to the same month last year. The number of pending sales for Walton County was up .5%. Inventory was down 1%. Median sales price was up 16.4%. Dollar volume was up a whopping 75.8% over last year at $207 Million.

Using the finest ingredients, Executive Chef Lee Guidry has enhanced its seasonal menu at the award-winning Seagar’s Prime Steaks & Seafood. The new winter menu is available through March 15, 2020. Seagar’s is open Tuesday through Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday through Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m.

The Sandestin Gumbo Festival has been known as one of the largest and most popular winter food events along Florida’s Emerald Coast. Now in its 31st year, the event takes over The Village of Baytowne Wharf during Presidents Day weekend.  Kick-off the weekend Friday, Feb. 14 at Hammerhead’s Bar & Grille with a delicious Baytowne Seafood Boil beginning at 5 p.m. On Saturday, Feb. 15 from 12-4 p.m. guests will enjoy live Zydeco music from Dikki Du and the Zydeco Krewe, family activities, the best gumbo cook-off on the Gulf Coast and bloody mary cocktails!
