Food For Thought Outreach expects to serve over 1,200 students each week through its backpack program during the 2015-2016 school year - a significant 56% increase from last school year’s 770 students enrolled in the program. Every month, Food For Thought sends over 50,000 food items out to help battle food insecurity in Okaloosa and Walton counties. Add the year-to-year growth to the increased demand for assistance from Food For Thought’s summer outreach programs, and that can empty a warehouse very quickly. 
 

Coming up Thursday, July 16 is the last YOLO Board Relay for the season at The Bay. Everyone's invited to join the 8th Annual YOLO Board Relay Series at The Bay restaurant on the beautiful Choctawhatchee Bay. The relay event begins at 4:30 p.m.and will include race relays, giveaways,  refreshments and fun activities for kids.

360 Blue is hosting These Boots Were Made for Giving, its premiere fundraising event at Arnett's Gulfside Trail Rides and Stables in Santa Rosa Beach on May 9 from 6-9 p.m. All are welcome to come out and enjoy a delicious dinner, silent auction and the music of local favorite Daphne Willis! Bring your dancing boots and prepare to get down for a great cause!
 

“How Great Thou Art,” a unique art auction and fundraising event benefiting Holy Kidz Camps, is coming to Celebration Hall on Scenic Hwy. 30A, April 16 from 5:30-8 pm. Guests will enjoy a night filled with live music, beautiful art by featured artists Mary Hong and Robin Cannon, and various silent auction and raffle items such as a BOTE paddle board, spa packages, a beach bike cruiser, jewelry, condo stays and much more.
 

The Cultural Arts Alliance (CAA) presents a new series of classes, workshops and camps appealing to all ages!  Classes are taught by Abrakadoodle mobile art studio and take place at the Bayou Arts Center.  All supplies are provided and parents simply need to show up and let their children’s creativity abound.  When Abrakadoodle’s expertise meets the inspiring surroundings of the Bayou Arts Center, it’s the perfect partnership for making memories and treasures to last a lifetime.
 

The Annual Food For Thought Golf Tournament returns April 9 to the beautiful course at the Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club. The 4th Annual event, presented by Sunburst Beach Vacations and A Superior Air Conditioning, will help raise money for an ever-expanding program at Food for Thought.  

The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County is joining forces with Food For Thought Outreach to create The Full Plate Project, a community-wide art project that will raise funds to aid overall child development by eliminating hunger at home and restoring the arts in Walton County schools.
