South Walton Real Estate Report for July 2013

The latest real estate statistics for July 2013 in Walton County show continued improvement – sales are up, prices are up, inventory is lower. A fact that jumps off the page is that the average sales price is up 42% over the same month last year.

Steve barber public relations and l. gall & company, two public relations firms, recently announced they have joined forces to create a third company, barber & gall promotions; specializing in events, unique promotions, and special public relations projects. The partners offer over 45 years of combined experience and have already worked with many companies and non-profits throughout the Southeast U.S. and beyond.
 

Havana Beach Bar & Grill Opens in Rosemary Beach

Rosemary Beach has some of our favorite restaurants in South Walton. On the ground floor of the recently opened The Pearl hotel is a new eatery that is already making waves - after only it's first week of operation. It's a beautifully appointed place that gives you the feeling of stepping back in time to the days when Ernerst Hemingway leaned on bars in Key West, toasting the good life.

Walton County TDC Accepting Applications for Volunteer Committees

Here's your chance to get involved and help our community by doing your part to strengthen tourism and business here in South Walton. It's also a great way to keep up with what's going on with tourism, network, and make new friends.

The Walton County Tourist Development Council is accepting applications for citizens to serve on volunteer committees to assist the TDC with tourism development and creative initiatives. The TDC is currently looking for citizens/representatives to serve on the following committees:

Food For Thought Outreach Receives Donation from Trustmark

Food For Thought Outreach, Inc. recently announced that Trustmark Bank, of Okaloosa and Walton Counties, recently raised and donated $2,115.86 to the organization. Trustmark Bank ran a fundraising campaign to support Food For Thought for the entire month of June.  Lenny's Sub Shop in Destin and Wing Stop in Destin also helped and contributed to the bank branches’ efforts by offering discounts and free food coupons for anyone that donated at least $5 dollars to the campaign.

Emerald Coast Magazine's Event - Best of the Emerald Coast October 19

The Ballots have been counted as Emerald Coast Magazine and the Junior League of the Emerald Coast eagerly prepare for the 2013 “Best Of the Emerald Coast” (BOEC) Event.  Each year readers of Emerald Coast Magazine cast votes for the “Best of the Emerald Coast” to choose the finest food, services, and places our region has to offer.  BOEC is an event showcasing the area's best of the best as voted by readers of Emerald Coast Magazine. Winners will be honored at the annual “Best Of” awards ceremony a week prior to the event.
