The sixth annual 30A Songwriters Festival, set for Jan. 16-18, 2015 features performances from esteemed artists Graham Nash, Indigo Girls, Leon Russell, Jason Isbell, Shawn Mullins, Rodney Crowell, Sara Watkins (Nickel Creek), Glen Phillips (Toad the Wet Sprocket). Also confirmed are Jeffrey Steele, Chely Wright, Bobby Bare Jr., Steve Poltz, Angaleena Presley, Jesse Harris, Mary Gauthier, Hayes Carll, Bob Schneider, Ellis Paul, Allison Moorer, Deana Carter, Luther Dickinson (from Mississippi Allstars) with Amy LaVere and Will Sexton, Peter Karp & Sue Foley and David Ryan Harris.

As is true with any location fortunate enough to be by a large body of water – the beach is by far the number one reason eager travelers head to our corner of paradise.

Granted, South Walton is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the country – or the world for that matter – but the most precious souvenir any departing guest ventures home with is not sandy feet or a sun-kissed tan. Calling All Superheros and Princesses! Get ready to dress-up as your favorite superhero or glittering princess. The Capes & Crowns Fun Run + 5K will be magical for the entire family on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at The Village of Baytowne Wharf. The afternoon will be filled with adventure throughout the Village.  The event benefits The Tree House Episcopal Montessori School in Santa Rosa Beach.

The 30A Songwriters Festival is known throughout the music community as a destination where writers who perform their own music, and performers who write their own songs, come together for a weekend of soulful melodies, powerful vocals and compelling lyrics.

Momentum is building for the highly anticipated New Year’s Eve Beach Ball Drop at Pier Park on Wednesday, December 31 with the announcement of the Celebrity AllStar Band to be part of the celebration.  Guests will enjoy family-friendly activities, including the nation’s only family beach ball drop at 8 p.m., and a New Year’s countdown at midnight.

The Merchants of Seaside have planned a fantastic, family-friendly New Year’s Eve celebration in the twinkling town of Seaside. On Dec. 31, the 5th Annual Countdown will welcome in 2015 with live entertainment, kid's art projects, street performers and fireworks over the Gulf of Mexico. Festivities begin at 7 p.m. and last until the last firework lights up the sky.
 

Grand Boulevard’s fifth annual “Festival of Trees” will showcase 12 uniquely decorated Christmas trees from area non-profit organizations, Nov. 25 – Dec. 25 in Grand Park. The public is invited to attend the kick-off on Tuesday, Nov. 25, 4 p.m. – 6 p.m., as the trees are lighted, judged on their decorations and winners are announced at 6 p.m.  A People’s Choice winner will be selected by the voting public that night as well.

The Friends of Eden invite the public to the annual Eden Gardens State Park Christmas Candlelight Open House on Saturday, December 20 from 5pm to 8pm. Enjoy the traditional walk through the luminaries through the Park to the Historic Wesley House and it’s beautifully decorated rooms. Take a tour through the house and admire the beautifully decorated rooms. Guests can even vote on their favorite room.
