The Sandestin Wine Festival, one of the top wine festivals in the country, will host healthy eating expert Diane Henderiks as a presenting chef at its 2013 Spring event.

Slated for this April 18-21, the Sandestin Wine Festival is known as the “Kentucky Derby of Wine Festivals.” It will be a picture perfect event complete with white tents, the tasting of hundreds of wines, Gulf seafood and other culinary treats, as well as live music.

For the Health of It in Blue Mountain Beach is one of SoWal's oldest businesses and a local favorite. It’s a natural food grocery, massage therapy clinic, and fresh juice and smoothie bar. The Destin Woman’s Club proudly presents Hats for Hope, a fashion show and luncheon showcasing the latest fashions from the Emerald Coast’s trendiest boutiques. The event will begin at 11am on Saturday, March 16 at the Linkside Ballroom at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort with proceeds benefiting Shelter House, the domestic violence center serving Okaloosa and Walton Counties.

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort announces record breaking crowds at the 24th Annual Gumbo Festival held over the extended Presidents’ Day Weekend, where nearly 2,000 attendees tasted and voted naming “People’s Choice”, while a panel of celebrity judges declared the coveted “Area’s Best” gumbo.

This longstanding winter food event has hosted numerous restaurants, businesses and guests over the last 24 years, but this weekend's Festival was a record with nearly 2,000 tickets sold. Guests enjoyed the great fall beach weather and tasted gumbo from 18 area restaurants and businesses.

Harriet Crommelin is the author of one of SoWal's greatest success stories. Her restaurant, Café Thirty-A in Seagrove Beach, has pleased the palates and filled the bellies of thousand of locals and vacationers for 18 years.
