Friends of Scenic 30A is a non-profit volunteer group that serves as a caretaker of the Scenic Highway 30A. They ensure the vision and intent of the Florida Scenic Highway program is fulfilled within the corridor.
The goals of Friends of Scenic 30A are:
To preserve and protect the existing natural landscape and infrastructure
Provide a safe, cost-effective, integrated, energy-efficient transportation system
Encourage private/public cooperation to improve Scenic 30-A
Friends of Scenic 30-A are preserving:
Live oaks at Eden State Gardens that are centuries of years old
The second largest collection of Louis XVI furniture in the United States, which is located at the Wesley House
15 rare coastal dune lakes that are found only in 4 other locations in the world
The tough little sand pine that grows nowhere else in the world but along our Gulf Coast
19 miles of walking and bicycling paths known as the Timpoochee Trail named after a local chief of the Euchee tribe
