Calling All Designers & Models for South Walton Fashion Week

South Walton Fashion Week is right around the corner and you can already hear the high heels coming down the runway. Scheduled for October 11-13, 2013, SWFW in Grand Boulevard’s Town Center at Sandestin is calling all aspiring designers and models to apply now through September 3, 2013. Applications must be submitted at swfw.org. Get your application in soon to be a part of the first South Walton Fashion Week!
Designer finalists will be chosen and invited to attend South Walton Fashion Week with complimentary lodging, where they will showcase their designs on the Emerging Designer Runway. The winner will then be selected by a panel of celebrity judges including Cassie McConnell Kelley, author of style blog Womanista.com and wife of Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley, Holly Williams, musician, author of the trend setting blog TheAfternoonOff.com and owner of Nashville boutique H. Audrey, and Heather Roop from All My Children, will host the week’s festivities.
The Emerging Designer will be awarded a cash prize of $1,500, a custom photo shoot by renowned fashion photographer Hayley Green of Goode Green Photography and rights to all images, a spread in the November/December issue of fashion and style magazine, VIE magazine and a six month-long storefront display in Grand Boulevard’s Town Center at Sandestin.

The model competition winner will be announced on Saturday night.

South Walton Fashion Week’s Runway and Fashion Partners, including A Southern Fashion House, The Alys Shoppe, Seaside Style, Ophelia, Nicole Paloma, Jewel Toffier, Sirens at the Beach, Grand Boulevard and Island Clothiers will host events surrounding the official schedule including trunk shows, champagne brunches, parties and more. These events will be posted on SWFW’s Facebook page and website.
Guests are encouraged to showcase their personal style at every SWFW event as 30A Street Style will capture all of the fun fashion moments and share them in real time through social media. 30A Street Style is the area’s fashion-focused e-zine dedicated to bringing real people and real fashion to the South Walton area. About South Walton Fashion Week South Walton Fashion Week is a three day series of dynamic fashion events with proceeds benefitting The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County, Inc., to fund their Educational Giving Program which provides much-needed dollars to Walton County teachers for art supplies, books and other supplements in their classroom, along with need-based student art scholarships and college scholarships.
