So, you like to travel for the food. We do, too!
South Walton is home to a unique and wonderful dining scene featuring an eclectic mix of cuisines. From prime steak and seafood houses and intimate cafés, to festivals helmed by famous chefs, the SoWal culinary scene has never been so vibrant. Take a deep dive into our SoWal Dining Guide for all things food at the beach.
SoWal.com/food is the ultimate guide for all the culinary happenings along Scenic 30A. The dining guide features listings and profiles of South Walton restaurants and chefs. Whether you’re craving sushi, burgers, or vegetarian dishes, the convenient search tool helps you locate your next meal with ease. Our connection with local restaurants and chefs means you’ll get the latest restaurant news and food stories as they unfold. And our mouthwatering photo galleries will leave you hungry for more.
The SoWal team also covers food festivals big and small. Chef Emeril Lagasse hosts the annual Seaside Taste of the Race as a fundraiser for the town’s school. And since food and drinks go hand in hand, several festivals highlight their symbiotic connection. South Walton Beaches Wine and Food Festival, Bloody Mary Fest, and Baytowne Beer Fest all feature beverages and bites…the best of both worlds. Stay tuned to the SoWal.com/events calendar and make a plan to celebrate food with us.
The SoWal Dining Forum is another great resource for food news and reviews. If you want to know what’s new in South Walton foodways, you can usually find it in the forum first. While South Walton sees a lot of visitors during peak season, it is a small town at heart and news here flies fast. This is where the beat of the dining scene marches to its own drum, and you’ll find restaurant rumors before they become news, as well as totally honest reviews. Sign up and leave your two cents worth!
With such a thriving culinary scene, it’s no wonder that SoWal sees many new restaurant openings each season. Of late, we’ve seen additions like Ji Shi Kichn in Seaside. Chef Jim Shirley's newest restaurant serves a fusion of superfoods, bowls, small plates and fresh flavors…and, of course, wine. And as if reconceptualizing his Seaside wine bar wasn’t enough, Chef opened North Beach Tortilla Company and Farm & Fire Pizzeria across from The Bay. It’s fast becoming a buzzed about hang out among locals featuring tacos, tequila, and a healthy dose of the bay life.
Cocina Cubana is fairly new in Seaside, serving authentic Cuban coffee, Cuban sandwiches, and sides like fried plantains. Their main menu features bowls where you can create your own unique flavor in the true Cuban spirit.
And if you haven’t already heard…Hanie and Marie are back! Go see the beloved couple at PJ’s Pizza, Pasta, and Ice Cream in Miramar Beach. Owners Hanie & Marie Nasri serve up only the freshest of pizza, pasta, hand-dipped ice cream, hot sandwiches and subs, salads and daily specials. (And yes, they’re still catering!) The husband and wife team are long-time community members well known for serving up great food with warm hospitality over the years in South Walton.
