North Beach Tortilla Co.

North Beach Tortilla Co. is a taco and tequila bar situated on the Choctawhatchee Bay in South Walton. The menu fuses Spanish, Southwestern, and Florida cuisines with a strong emphasis on fresh and authentic foods. SoWal's newest waterfront restaurant and bar is a place where Tacos Grow On Trees and Tequila Always Wins.

Spoken like somebody that’s enjoyed a few good margaritas.

NBTC features over 100 Tequilas to choose from, though we don’t recommend trying them all at once. The bar features drink specials all day every day, and they add more during happy hour daily from 4-6. The drink menu makes good use of all the tequila on hand, and draft beer, wine and a full bar are available if you can’t handle your tequila.

The bayfront restaurant has a large covered deck with outdoor seating along with a wrap around bar- the perfect place to relax with NBTC margaritas while the kids play on the beach. You might even spot a few dolphins chasing fish for dinner if you’re lucky.

Dine in a casual indoor or outdoor space with beautiful views from every spot. The menu ranges from street corn and tacos to fajitas, steaks, grouper, and tamales - a Southwestern feast with a fascinating combination of tastes and cultures.

The building itself has a story to tell as well. NBTC sits right across the street from its sister restaurant The Bay – on the banks of Choctawhatchee Bay at the foot of the 331 bridge. Where the modern bridge is now, there used to be a drawbridge that was built in 1930. “When they built the new bridge, they just drove the creosote posts into the ground,” says Owner Chef Jim Shirley. Those hundred-year-old posts became the foundation for North Beach Tortilla Co. “There are no straight walls…don’t look for them,” he jokes. Good to know it’s not the effects of the tequila!

North Beach Tortilla Co. is located across from their sister establishment, The Bay, at the foot of the 331 Bridge on the shores of Choctawhatchee Bay. NBTC is open daily for lunch, dinner and happy hour. Visit NBTC online at www.northbeachtortillaco.com for menus and more. Other Jim Shirley Enterprises include Seaside establishments Meltdown on 30A, Ji Shi, and Great Southern Café – each delicious in their own right.
