Gulf World Marine Institute Releases Two Sea Turtles in Inlet Beach

Gulf World Marine Institute released two healthy sea turtles, Sprout and Lil DJ, into the Gulf of Mexico at Inlet Beach on Thursday. June 1 at 10am. Both Kemp's Ridley sea turtles were medically cleared to be released, after rescue and rehabilitation.

Sprout was rescued on April 5th, 2017 by South Walton Turtle Watch. The sea turtle washed up on the shore during rough surf conditions. The animal was lethargic, lacking buoyancy control and wasn’t eating. Sprout was treated with fluids and antibiotics and is now eating well and swimming normally.

Goatfeathers Twin Markets Have Freshest Seafood On Scenic 30A

After 29 years in business, Pat Miller’s Goatfeathers Seafood Markets are still a main draw here in South Walton. On the Scenic 30A “west side” in Santa Rosa Beach, the market opened at the same time as his Goatfeathers Restaurant in 1988. The newer Seagrove location opened in 2000, giving residents and visitors on the “east side” of Scenic 30A a closer option for their fresh seafood.

Red Snappers Every Day

The long awaited steady opening of Red Snappers finally came Saturday and there were lots caught.

Some pretty darn big ones too! Now if we can just get this weather to realize it's Summer time and it's supposed to be calm we'll have it all.

Prior to yesterday we have been catching lots of Vermillions along with Kings and Mahi as our target species with great catches of them as well.

Grits & Grind Serves Excellent Breakfast in Seacrest

SoWal has a new breakfast hotspot that makes our taste buds holla “mercy me!”

Grits & Grind is an excellent breakfast spot on the East end of Scenic 30A in the Seacrest Village. The recent launch is the latest in a successful string of eateries from the Spell Restaurant Group, including George's, La Crema, Saltwater Grill, & La Cocina (where Grits & Grind is located).

It all started with a local chef's fervent love of what is called the most important meal of the day - breakfast.
