Art lovers and collectors of Joe Elmore’s art will be glad to know that his legacy will continue at Elmore’s Landing thanks to the efforts of Sam Douangdara and Mike Madriaga.

Mid august until late September is the prime time for harvesting hops, the flower cones that contribute to a beer’s aroma, flavor and bitterness. Most are dried but some skip that process and are delivered right to the brewery within hours of harvesting.

Meeting a sea turtle up close is a powerful experience.
They're beautiful and graceful in the water, and they're so darn cute, with big eyes and a permanent smile. They're curious about people and seem to want to connect, waving their large flippers when a person comes close. When you get the rare chance to be face to face, you feel an emotional bond right away.
Today was my last day in Grayton/Seagrove for three weeks.
We are off to Indian Pass tomorrow for the annual Tarpon & Tripletail chase. Word from the guys over there is the fish showed real good several weeks ago and then thinned out with the weather we have had the past week. Tarpon like it hot, dry and calm and should show back up in force by the end of this week if the weather cooperates as predicted.
SoWal hikers, bikers, and equestrians are thankful that the McQuage Bayou Trail is once again open for business.
Formerly used primarily by equestrians (horizontal posts still exist for tying up ol’ Trigger), the newly improved trail was officially re-opened with a Florida Forest Service event July 21, 2017.
After a few real pretty days I am back on the hill today, Saturday, July 29th with a little blow from a summer cold (?) front.
The Gulf is just rough enough for it not to be fun and the forecast is for nice again tomorrow so it's a short break. The folks I had to cancel on Saturday morning got rained out a few weeks ago though so for them it's been a bad run of weather.
The latest SoWal Real Estate Report includes all of South Walton real estate activity for June 2017, including statistics for single family homes, townhomes, and condos in Walton County, Florida.
Single family closed sales were up 11% for June compared to the same month last year. The number of pending sales for Walton County was up 3.4%. Inventory was down 4.5%, dropping for the 2nd month in a row. Median sales price was up a sizable 13%. Dollar volume was up 26% over last year at $200.6 Million!
On the east side of South Walton just east of Inlet Beach, turn off Highway 98 and through the gate of Camp Helen State Park and be amazed how fast you go from freeway frenzy to total tranquility.
