Sinfonia Link Up Challenge to Fund Carnegie Hall Music Program for Area Students

The Sinfonia Gulf Coast Board of Directors has issued a “Link Up” donation challenge to the community. Through December 31, the board will match up to $5,000 total in new contributions. Funds will assist in covering the costs of bus transportation for the nearly 2,000 confirmed students, venue fees and orchestra costs associated with the organization’s collaboration with Carnegie Hall’s Weill Music Institute (WMI).

The 13th Annual Best of the Emerald Coast Event was Record Breaking

The thirteenth annual Best of the Emerald Coast event hosted by Emerald Coast magazine certainly lived up to its name breaking records in sales and attendance numbers. The Junior League of the Emerald Coast (JLEC) partnered with Rowland Publishing to execute an impeccable event at Grand Boulevard. This year’s event sold over 1,140 tickets, more than ever before.

History is Recognized at Gulf Cemetery

A tour of the 40 acres at Gulf Cemetery reveals many memorials, remembrances, personal items, tombstones (some weathered with unreadable inscriptions), simple wooden crosses, photos and homemade plaques. The nearly 100-year-old resting place is just a short walk from the beach at Gulf Place.

Gulf Cemetery Association, Inc. is a non-profit organization managed by volunteers. Tax deductible donations and the sale of lots help with repairs and upkeep of the site.

Santa Parades into Seaside to Turn on the Town Nov 30

The Merchants of Seaside invite everyone out to “Turn on the Town” on Nov. 30. Saturday morning kicks off with the weekly Seaside Farmers Market from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Then grab your spot along Scenic 30A for the Annual South Walton Christmas Parade. This South Walton tradition begins at 4 p.m. in front of Seagrove Plaza. Residents and visitors share in the glory as participants march 1.5 miles down Scenic Highway 30A from Seagrove decked in their Christmas best on festive holiday floats.
