On Valentine’s Day the SoWal Staff lunched at Grayton Beer Brewpub for some local love.
We beat the dinner crowd and opted for lunchtime bites. (Or so we thought…they were actually pretty busy!) Healthy salads, handhelds, and hearty apps found their way to the table as we chatted over the devastating Red Bar fire, and where we couldn’t wait to dine next. (Basmati’s, we’re coming for ya!)

Remembering good times at The Red Bar in Grayton Beach which sadly burned to the ground in the early morning hours of February 13, 2019. A plan to rebuild is underway and to that we say CHEERS and we can't wait!

Chef Jim Shirley of South Walton County, Florida was contacted by the Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association to prepare a high end, four-course meal for the then Governor Elect of Florida Ron DeSantis’ Inaugural Candlelight Dinner the night before his inauguration. On January 7, 2019, Chef Jim and a crew of 30 including his top chefs and Director of Operations, Dan Tinghitella, traveled to Mission San Luis in Tallahassee to prepare for the evening’s event.
