To support the fight against breast cancer, Alys Beach kicks off Caliza Goes Pink for the month of October. Chef Kevin Korman’s delectable five-course tasting menu prepared with ultimate cancer-fighting ingredients will be available Tuesday through Saturday, 5:30 p.m. -10:00 p.m. at Caliza Restaurant. Also, Fonville Press will showcase two specialty drinks throughout the month.

The 51st Annual Florida Seafood Festival - a two-day celebration of fresh seafood, music, and art - draws thousands of visitors to the historic town of Apalachicola on Florida's Forgotten Coast. The event will be held at the mouth of the Apalachicola River under the shady oaks of Apalachicola's Battery Park Oct. 31 - Nov. 1, 2014.

With some of the biggest names in country and rock music and the area’s best seafood restaurants bringing so much to the table already, it’s no doubt that the 2014 Panama City Beach Seafood and Music Festival will be a blast for all ages. The fun doesn’t end there; the festival also includes a whole lineup of waterfront and fishing activities at Capt. Anderson’s Marina, kids’ activities, a 5K run and more!
 

Stinky's Bait Shack is busy planning for their first annual Stinky's Beach to Bay, Grand Slam Fishing Tournament coming up Oct. 4 through Nov 15, 2014. To kick off the tournament, Stinky's Oyster Festival will be held next door at Stinky's Fish Camp on October 4 from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
 

New Chef de Cuisine, Shaun O’Brien and Restaurant Manager, Kyle Davis have their sights set on making WaterColor restaurant Fish Out of Water a ‘foodie destination’ across the South.
 
O’Brien, who joined the restaurant’s kitchen team earlier this year after winning countless trophies and awards at Sandestin’s Bistro Bijoux, has now been appointed Chef de Cuisine.
 

The Emerald Coast’s inaugural Big Green Egg EggFest barbecue competition, Eggs on the Beach, will be held at Seascape Resort in Miramar Beach on Sept. 27. Presented by Bay Breeze Patio, the family-friendly event celebrates the delicious results of cooking on the Big Green Egg grill and benefits the Fisher House of the Emerald Coast.

Boshamps Seafood & Oyster House on the Destin Harbor will host the inaugural Choctawhatchee Watershed Music Festival on September 20 from 2pm-10pm. The benefit concert will promote the health and sustainability of local waterways via the mission and objectives of the Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance (CBA) of Northwest Florida State College.

September on the coast transforms the chaos of summer into my happy place. Crowds get much, much thinner, there’s a festival (or two…or three) every weekend, temps are still warm enough to go for a swim, Monarch butterflies arrive, and Fall sunsets set the sky on fire with a rich coral hue.
