SoWal food shopping options are expanding in ways that make us thrilled to be able to shop local. Tasty, healthful and fresh foods can now be found at a number of locally owned markets, health foods stores, and gourmet/specialty shops.
With excellent stores like Anthropologie and Pottery Barn, Grand Boulevard’s retail mix is aligning nicely with their established dining scene. Wide shaded walkways, lush greens and stone facades will have you looking for excuses to visit, and there are plenty. Like Happy Hour, for instance.

It's Seaside's 30th Anniversary. The small SoWal beach town kicked off the new urbanist movement and has hosted generations of families. Kids are now bringing their kids. Our hearts are firmly rooted in the tree-lined streets bordered by white picket fences.
There's not a much better place to spend a vacation, or just an afternoon. The southern sea breeze carries the pleasant smell of garlic and rosemary from the gulf front restaurants and the central square smells like southern barbecue.

We're gathered at Big Daddy’s Bike Shop to head out on the weekly mountain bike ride through nearby Point Washington State Forest. I'm along for the ride and looking forward to the venture.
