It's the most wonderful time of year at The Village of Baytowne Wharf with a calendar filled with festive events starting now and throughout the month of December. Baytowne is a wonderful place to enjoy holiday shopping, dining and entertainment for the whole family. This holiday season the village is going all out starting with the Polar Express movie, Santa's arrival with fireworks on Thanksgiving weekend. And rolling right into December with live music performances by local bands, twinkling light shows, a holiday lantern parade, ice skating and a New Year's Countdown to ring in 2016.

The Merchants of Seaside will host the 4th annual Nutcracker ballet to be performed by Northwest Florida area dancers and Ballet Pensacola. The Nutcracker performance has become a beautiful holiday tradition in the town of Seaside in South Walton, Fla. The one-time performance is free and open to the public Saturday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m. in the Seaside Amphitheater.

It's a party at the brand-new Trebeaché at Redfish Village in Blue Mountain Beach and you're invited! This Saturday evening on Nov. 21 is the Tommypalooza benefit dinner and concert to support Tom Ford and his wife Shareen.

The event is hosted by the Stinky's Fish Camp team for one of their own with 100% of proceeds to help cover medical expenses for Ms. Ford as she undergoes cancer treatment. What a wonderful way for the SoWal community to come together in support of local friends and co-workers.

The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) is calling all kids to flitter to the SoWal beach town of Rosemary Beach for the annual Flutterby Arts Festival on Saturday, Nov. 14 and Sunday, Nov. 15,  from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day on the East Long Green.

Keeping the tempo on the Emerald Coast’s cultural scene since its founding in 2005, Sinfonia Gulf Coast will mark its milestone 10th season as the region’s only fully professional symphony orchestra by offering a stellar lineup of concerts featuring the orchestra with world-renowned guest artists and a 10th anniversary gala event headlined by an Emmy and Tony Award-winning singer and actress.

What do you do after you’ve, say, done Broadway and won a Tony or a Grammy? Apparently, you perform with Sinfonia Gulf Coast. Over the last 10 years, Sinfonia musicians have shared the stage with legendary talent the likes of Bernadette Peters and Patti LuPone.

In South Walton it has always been about the beach and a laid-back lifestyle. But in recent years music and fashion have become a huge part of the SoWal scene, and Lauren Spring draws inspiration from each. She runs a very popular clothing boutique in WaterColor and also takes the stage as a singer and guitarist for two local bands.

Beer lovers will converge for suds at the eighth annual Baytowne Beer Festival on Oct. 16-17. With the boom of interest in craft brewing, the Baytowne Wharf Beer Festival at Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort grows each year and is a ton of fun.
 
In addition to great entertainment, there will be opportunities to discover and sample specialty beers from around the country. The charming Village of Baytowne Wharf at Sandestin will be the perfect backdrop for fun-in-the-sun during the traditionally beautiful month of October.
 

The Great American Picnic returns to Watersound Origins on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 3 P.M. with great fun throughout Wind Garden Park until 7 P.M. It's a free outdoor event featuring live entertainment, family-friendly activities, food trucks, and lawn games, all for a couple of good local causes.

Back for the second year at Pier Park in Panama City Beach is the Chili Vibrations World Music Festival, sponsored by SoWal.com. From the very first note played last year, it became one of our favorite area events, featuring live reggae (and world music), art, apparel, and a wide variety of food. The chili cookoff features an outstanding competition among teams from local restaurants and assorted citizen teams.
