Gumbo is more than just a passion. It's a way of life! Our winter festival favorite is back for the 26th time - the Annual Sandestin Gumbo Festival - great gumbo paired with first-rate family fun, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 13-14 at the resort. Visitors and gumbo-lovers from across the Southeast are expected to join in the festivities during the extended Presidents Day weekend.
On Saturday, March 21, 2015, the WaterColor Community Association will be hosting their 10th Annual Art in the Park from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. in WaterColor’s Cerulean Park and Town Center.
Tuesday was a historic date for Shelter House as the domestic and sexual violence center closed on the purchase of a building that will house its Program office. The Fort Walton Beach property will be home to the agency’s Outreach program and administrative personnel. The agency will move into the new space in the spring.

The sixth annual 30A Songwriters Festival, set for Jan. 16-18, 2015 features performances from esteemed artists Graham Nash, Indigo Girls, Leon Russell, Jason Isbell, Shawn Mullins, Rodney Crowell, Sara Watkins (Nickel Creek), Glen Phillips (Toad the Wet Sprocket).
