Dog-Harmony is one of SoWal's more unique nonprofits and Founder Nancy Bown is definitely the leader of the pack. Bown, along with a great board of directors and dedicated team of volunteers make up Dog-Harmony.

Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort is the scenic backdrop for the inaugural Sandestin Foundation for Kids Gameday 5K on September 17.

Participants will soak in views of the beautiful 2,400 acre resort including the Choctawhatchee Bay, pristine golf courses, ponds and natural surroundings.  The Saturday event is designed for all and will feature a 5K and a one mile fun run for children 12 and under.

The crowd of onlookers was thrilled as Gulf World Marine Institute released two sea turtles, Jarhead and Erica, into the Gulf of Mexico on Thursday, July 14th at South Walton Lakeshore Drive beach access on a beautiful morning. 

The Family Movies & More Series returns to Camp Helen State Park this summer. The third annual summer fun series will take place on Wednesday evenings on these dates: June 1, June 15, June 29, July 13 and 27.  

Walton County's Coastal Dune Lake Advisory Board (CDLAB) is hosting a celebration of South Walton area coastal dune lakes on Saturday, June 4, 2016. The event will be held at Grayton Beach State park from 10:00 a.m. til 3:00 p.m.

It's a celebration of our beautiful coastal dune lakes including education and activities planned on the shores and in the water at Western Lake which lies within Grayton Beach State Park.

Hibiscus Coffee & Guesthouse represents the best of SoWal with unique guest cottages and cafe in historic Grayton Beach, Florida. The Hibiscus Café had been closed to the public since July but is now open and offering the original vegetarian breakfast menu. Breakfast at Hibiscus can be enjoyed inside or outside under the trees providing just the right touch for casual dining and conversation.

Lace up your shoes and run for the arts in Sinfonia Gulf Coast’s sixth annual Bravo! Beat 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, May 7 at 8:00 a.m., starting and ending at The Village of Baytowne Wharf in Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.

Whether you choose to parade in pumps, walk in wedges, strut in stilettos or stroll in sneakers, make plans to join us on Friday, May 20th for the 5th Annual Walk Her Way for Shelter House.

Presented by Rosemary Beach Foundation, men, women and children of all ages are invited to put on their fiercest footwear for a short walk through the streets of Rosemary Beach. 

Gulf World Marine Institute (GWMI) has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the Disney Conservation Fund after working in conjunction with New England Aquarium to care for 50 cold stunned sea turtles. The grant will help offset the costs of the rehabilitation process for the New England cold stunned sea turtles that have since been medically cleared and released into the Gulf of Mexico.

 The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA) announces the first-ever Art Week South Walton (AWSW), an initiative bringing together neighborhoods, organizations and businesses to present quality arts and entertainment. Sponsored by Visit South Walton, 2016 Art Week includes ArtsQuest, Digital Graffiti, ECLive! and the Seaside Writers Conference, and will take place May 7th-20th in venues throughout South Walton.
