La Lumière: A Metropolitan Affair  is the upcoming 4th edition of local Hannah Martin’s highly-anticipated annual fundraiser.

This year the event benefits Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County (CAA), Special Olympics Florida — Walton County, and Westonwood Ranch. Hannah Martin’s connection with the Special Olympics started long before La Lumière derived, but her help in aiding CAA and Westonwood Ranch is new to this year’s fundraising efforts.

We know you love the beach. And who doesn't love music?! Beach & music lovers converge every January in SoWal for the annual 30A Songwriters Festival.

The 9th annual 30A Songwriters Festival brings more great music for SoWal beach lovers from January 12-15, 2018 - with performances by 175 artists on more than 20 stages! 

In conjunction with South Walton Fire District (SWFD), Gulf Place will host the 5th Annual Polar Bear Plunge at 1 p.m. on January 1, 2018, at Ed Walline Beach Access, located across the street from Gulf Place located on the corner of Highway 393 and Scenic 30A.

Every morning in Grayton Beach at Hibiscus Café is special but Sundays are off the chart!

The Café opens as usual at 7:30 a.m., but the real fun starts with the Hibiscus Backyard of Love Funday Sunday Brunch charity events from 10 to 1. The regular Café menu is expanded to include wine and a mimosa bar with live music underneath the beautiful oaks. 

A group of Walton County residents has incorporated “Safe Water for Walton, Inc.,” as a Florida non-profit organization - primarily to continue community opposition to a “deep injection well” State permit that would allow toxic landfill leachate to threaten the regional water basin.

Friends of South Walton Sea Turtles group invites our community to the We Share the Beaches Educational Series held at the South Walton Coastal Branch Library.

Programs are held monthly on specified Wednesday nights as announced from 6:30 til 7:30pm. Free and open to the public and also as training for Friends of South Walton Sea Turtle Volunteer Beach Ambassadors.

Mary Wilson of the Supremes is bringing her larger-than-life vocals and amazing energy back to the Sinfonia stage for A Rockin' Holiday concert on Friday, Dec. 15, 2017 at 7:30 p.m.

Sinfonia's full orchestra shares the stage with Ms. Wilson and her incredible band at Destiny Worship Center in Miramar Beach for a most magical concert of the holiday season. Tickets are available online at sinfoniagulfcoast.org. 

This November, a new wine and food festival is coming to the South Walton area. Produced by Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation (DCWAF), Harvest Wine & Food Festival is poised to be one of the Southeast’s premier fall events and will provide patrons the opportunity to sip and savor some of the world’s finest wine and culinary selections while enjoying the iconic beach town of WaterColor. Tickets available online at www.dcwaf.org/tickets. Walton County Coastal Dune Lake Advisory Board is hosting Coastal Dune Lake Day at Grayton Beach State Park on Saturday, Oct. 21 from 10:00 am til 2:00 pm. The community is invited to come out for a celebration of South Walton area coastal dune lakes on the shores of Western Lake in Grayton Beach. The Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance will have a booth full of information about how to protect the dune lakes, as well as a few tanks of native dune lake marine life.
