Watching For Turtles – Volunteers

“I've got a turtle," South Walton Turtle Watch volunteer Bob Veltri shouted, as he scooped up the first turtle and held it gently in his gloved hand. Veltri was the first to dig in the sand as he and his companions looked for traces of the inhabitants of the nest.

Al Murphy, in charge of this night’s dig, brought over a bucket filled with damp sand.
 

"Very gently put him in the bucket," Murphy instructed.

3rd Annual Premiere Golf Tournament at Camp Creek May 19, 2014

 The St. Joe Community Foundation is presenting the 3rd Annual Premiere Golf Tournament at Camp Creek Golf Club on May 19, 2014, to benefit Children's Volunteer Health Network. All proceeds from the event will be used for ongoing operating funds to sustain the Children's Volunteer Health Network mission of facilitating medical, dental, vision and mental health care of local uninsured and underinsured children.

Coastal Dune Lakes Documentary Continues at Escape To Create

 It was wonderful to come back to Walton County for an extended period of time earlier this year. First, with Escape To Create as an Artist in Residence at Seaside, and now returning on my own to capture more moving images for this documentary story. Each working visit affirms the importance to showcase the Coastal Dune Lakes of Walton County. 

Arts in Medicine Program at Sacred Heart Hospital Boosts Spirits with Music and Art

When Joyce VerStraete was admitted to Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast recently, she was pleasantly surprised to see volunteer artist Rita Stuck enter her hospital room wheeling her “art cart”. Joyce quickly had clay in her hands and a smile on her face, chatting about children and grandchildren, completely forgetting she was in the hospital.
