Marlin Grill has been the pulse of the Village of Baytowne Wharf for 15 years, earning a high reputation for some of the best seafood and steaks in South Walton. The fine dining restaurant has been focused on offering an exquisite experience since day one, with the quality of both the food and the staff being top notch.
The Marlin Grill crew knows how to have a good time and they make sure to get everyone in on the fun. The restaurant recently added happy hour for the first time since opening their doors. When happy hour meets fine dining, showing up is kind of a no brainer. The restaruant has a full bar and high-def TVs making it the funnest place in Baytowne to catch the game. Enjoy specials on drinks and small plates nightly from 5-7.
Dinner at Marlin Grill is a treat, from the appetizers down to dessert. For starters, the Kobe Beef Carpaccio features paper thin US Kobe beef served on a bed of greens. The dish gets tons of flavor from capers, parmesan and creamy vinaigrette.
Duck and Andouille Sausage Gumbo offers a nice respite from typical seafood gumbos found throughout South Walton. But the real stars of the show are the surf and turf. They are, after all, what Marlin Grill is known for.
The 14 oz. Ribeye is Mid-Western, grain-fed, Certified Angus Beef that’s been dry-aged for 28 days and cooked over a wood burning grill. Before it comes to the table, it’s topped with caramelized onions and a red wine demi-glace. Pepper Crusted Seared Tuna is sushi grade, generously seasoned with a fresh ground five peppercorn blend then served rare to mid-rare for a melt-in-your-mouth experience. Finish off your meal with house-made key lime pie for the ultimate decadence.
Marlin Grill has built a reputation for outstanding hospitality, delicious dishes and fine wines. The glass encased wine vault has over 600 bottles to choose from. Whites are chilled to a perfect 39 degrees, while reds are served at their ideal 55 degrees.
Marlin Grill happens to be the perfect place to have a light dinner and drinks before the nightly Baytowne festivities kick off. Grab a seat on the veranda and hear some live music during the Wednesday Night Concert Series, or take in a fireworks show over the lagoon on Boomin’ Tuesdays.
“On Tuesday nights when they do fireworks, we have a nice balcony you can look out on,” says Marlin Grill Manager David Chiasson.
Inside, the restaurant has an intimate feel, with rich mahogany details amidst a sea of white tablecloths. The restaurant can accommodate private parties from 8-60 guests in two separate areas from the bar and main dining room. A large private room overlooking the events plaza at Baytowne Wharf has room enough for 60 guests, and a banquet menu is available for large parties.
